Nigeria, has, in most cases, spent billions of nairas to conduct surveys, research, and studies, as well as set-up committees, commissions, and technical working groups to advise the government on the most productive economic blueprint to jumpstart the economy. Unfortunately, over the years, evidence has shown that Nigeria rarely makes use of such reports and statistics for economic planning.
Recently, the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released the Nigeria Living Standards Survey (NLSS) report for 2018/2019, highlighting statistics of gender spread, population growth, and poverty ratio of states across the nation, among others.
