New vacancies in the City are 20% down on this time last year, according to financial services recruitment specialist, Astbury Marsden. Last month saw 4,030 City jobs created compared with 5,030 new posts in August 2010, with disappointing second-quarter trading results across all the main investment banks and general market jitters blamed for the slowdown.
