The due date for filing 2016 Forms W-2 and W-3 with the SSA is now January 31, 2017, whether employers file using paper forms or electronically. The new Jan. 31 filing deadline also applies to certain Forms 1099-MISC reporting non-employee compensation such as payments to independent contractors.
