AIC: Specialist asset classes stand out in 2011

Specialist asset classes fared much better than the investment sector as a whole in 2011, according to the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).
While the share price of the average investment company is still 54% up on the lows of 2008, mean growth for 2011 was -5% as the eurozone debt crisis led to long periods of volatility and uncertainty in the markets.
